Danby DPA100EAUWDB Review.

The Danby Portable AC was released last year and was a top selling model.

As a portable air conditioner, the Danby AC is an affordable unit — perfect for medium size rooms.

It’s a newer release so it doesn’t have as many buyer reviews, but don’t let that deter you — It’s a very high performance model w/ features comparable models don’t.

They offer multiple models, but for simplicity I focused on the 10,000 BTU unit (which appears to be the most popular).

One of the nicer features is the adjustable temperature control.

The Danby portable air conditioner lets you set your desired temperature.

Temp: 64°F – 90°F

You can set it manually, or use the handy remote control.

Using the remote you have full control — set ac power (low, medium, high), set the exact temp, turn-on dehumidifier, change fan speed ,and set timer.

The Danby AC also doubles as a high-end dehumidifier — the 10000 BTU unit removes up to 71 pints of moisture (per 24 hours).

Excellent performance and quickly cools rooms of 350 – 450 sq. ft.

One buyer said they noticed a difference within 10-min of turning it on — and if you live in a very humid area the dehumidifier is a nice added bonus.

FYI: remote control powers all 3 functions (ac, dehumidifier, and fan)

Many users use it specifically as a bedroom air conditioner. It’s quieter than a window ac unit and cheaper than a mini split ac system.

Buyers confirm that it’s runs very quietly and using the timer function, you can have it decrease power (for less noise).

Danby offers multiple sizes, but the 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner is the most popular.

The Danby portable air conditioner is my personal choice for beating the summer heat.

Pricing is comparable to similar units, but the dehumidifier function put it over the top — if a similar dehumidifier were purchased individually, it’d cost an additional $200 – 300.
