    • Hey Greg – Apologies for the late response.

Window and portable air conditioners all require a window outlet for the exhaust hose. I actually ran into this issue a few years ago when my bedroom had only a small window on the ceiling. The only option I had was an ‘air cooler’ which was slightly better than a high-powered fan, but super loud. Unfortunately there are limited options for no-window air conditioning. If you own the residence or are okay spending $800+ a ductless mini split ac is the best option I think.

  1. You talked about the ‘Silent Mode’ of the unit. I don’t have that on mine but a ‘Sleep Mode’, which I’m trying to figure out how to work it.

    • Hi Frankie – I believe the Shinco SPF5 models have “Silent Mode” but it’s similar to “Sleep Mode”. In either case, Shinco says that it keeps noise much quieter (below 55 decibels).
