Whynter ARC-148MS Portable AC.
Whynter produces some of the best portable ac units, many of which become top sellers.
They produce other heating and air conditioning units, but their portable acs is what they’re known for — they’re easy to install and less carrying (they’re on wheels!)
In my review I’ll cover the following units.
ARC-148MS (without heat pump)
ARC-148MHP (with heat pump)
Both portable AC units offers the same cooling ability.
With summer approaching, I’ll focus my review on the Whynter ARC-148MS.
Whynter ARC-14MS 14000 BTU Air Conditioner
The Whynter 14,000 BTU AC is extremely quiet when running.
Even on max power, it stays below 55 decibels — Compared to other 14000 BTU units, the Whynter ARC-148MS is much quieter.

Room Size: 400 – 500 sq. ft.
It’s a little big for bedroom use, but being such a high-powered unit, it can be used for cooling all types of large area:
living rooms, city apartments, home offices, dorm rooms, or basements
Some buyers are even using it to cool commercial offices and classrooms!
Whynter ARC-14MS also includes a remote control with full functionality — even set your desired temp (instead of speed).

Whynter ARC-148MS Reviews
It’s a newer model produced by Whynter, but it’s already received positive buyer reviews.
Even though it isn’t cheap, I think you’re getting tremendous value — a good dehumidifier costs $200-300.
For rooms/areas that require high output (tall ceilings or open home layouts), it’s a solid choice. Being a 14,000 BTU unit makes it comparable to a mini split ac system.
Overall, the Whynter ARC-148MS looks like a great option despite its higher price tag.
