The Shinco SPF2-12C Air Conditioner is a newer ac model, but has lots of positive reviews.
For a compact AC unit, it’s very high-powered — perfect for cooling large areas up to 550 sq. ft.
Good option for homes with open-layouts or rooms w/ high ceilings.

Portable air conditioners are starting to increase in popularity because of their affordable prices.
They have similar cooling capacity as window ac units — they’re also easy to install (no carrying) + much quieter, making them better for bedrooms.
In terms of installation, the Shinco SPF2-12C comes mostly preassembled.
Installation: 5 – 10 minutes
Some portable air conditioners require a longer set up, but not this one — even as a larger 12,000 BTU unit it takes only a few mins to get up and running.
Once installed, operating is also very easy.
It comes w/ easy-to-use LED controls (located on the machine) and a remote control — you’re able to adjust nearly all the functions w/ the remote:
24-hour timer, ac speed/power settings, or switch modes (air conditioner, dehumidifier, or 3 fan speeds)

The Shinco SPF2-12C air conditioner weighs 61 pounds, but it’s fairly compact.
Buyers say it fits snuggly against a wall or corner — thanks to its high powered motor, it’s able to disperse lower temps throughout the room (even if sitting in the corner).
It comes w/ simple LED controls which let you change settings in the dark.
You can also use the remote control to change function, speeds, or set it on sleep mode.

Even though the Shinco SPF2-12C portable air conditioner is a newer model, it’s gotten mostly all positive ratings from buyers.
Personally I think the Shinco air conditioner offers good price value.
It cools rooms fast + the built-in dehumidifier removes 10+ gallons of air moisture per day.
For anyone living in humid areas (near water or in a valley), the built-in dehumidifier will be very useful in summer.
For anyone looking for a large room air conditioner, I think the Shinco SPF2-12C is a valid option.
